Will this work on Hughes Net?

Recommended Posts

I really wanna play this game, but I have Hughes Net as my internet provider. Their internet is very bad so I'm not sure if it would be able to connect to the servers. Does anyone know?

Yea I got DSL right now, using a wireless connection, several walls between myself and router. DSL connection plugs into the phone cord, which is routed miles away to another larger router box and then my guess is to the companys station... thats a lot of middle men for a slow connection I've got... I still manage 1MB download and I think 350KB upload... which now a days.. is crap. Not sure about Hughes net - do a google internet speed check and see how fast you're going...

Thanks, but another downside is that I only get 800 Megabytes per day, so that means I will have to figure out how much megabytes it takes up.

Does anyone have Hughes net?

I highly doubt you will have a great experience. Since hughes net is a satellite based internet, there is an inherent latency between you, the satellite, and then the receiving end. Then all of that in reverse. While this is true of every connection, the satellite adds a large delay. The best latency you can probably expect from hughes net will be in the 750-1000ms range. That means by the time you see something happen, it will have been in progess for up to a second. I would consider 150ms to be the highest latency that would give a decent experience; hughes net will not get anywhere near that.

Sorry. It wouldn't hurt to run a speed test and check your ping though.
