farcry555 0 Posted December 29, 2012 (edited) Alright, so I've had DayZ for a while now and it's always lagged, and I'm finally ready to do something about it. So I'll start it up and for the first 4-5 minutes I'll be getting about 40+ FPS, but then it'll slow to about 8-9 FPS, 15 if I'm lucky. I'm not the best with computers, but I've tried TONS of things, even totally altering my config files, but I've maybe increased about 3 FPS...I have the Dell Precision M6500, and it can run most games maxed out such as Total War: Shogun 2, Deadspace, Battlefield Bad Company 2, and other games but I don't have these problems. Also, this computer occasionally crashes my computer, and no other game does. I would really love to get this sorted out...I'm just not willing to admit I can't run this game on the lowest settings..lol Any help is appreciated. Thanks! Pixelwarrior 6 Posted December 29, 2012 (edited) there is a few things that make you lag1 computer: check with "can i run it" and see where your computer sits. http://www.systemreq...ntslab.com/cyri cleaning the computer fan(s) from dust helps too.2 internet speed: ring your internet provider/update anything related to modem. do a speed test here: http://www.speedtest.net/3 unused programs in the background like downloads/uploads, web browsers and other programs like skype and itunes4 hackers in the game, try staying away from public servers and switch to private with active mods, even try whitelisted servers5 talking over side chat (voice). some private/whitelisted servers take global/sidechat off so you can't voice talk. some even have rules to only type.6 keep all drivers up to date7 defragment your harddrive(s)8 disable unnessesary drivers and windows services9 turn down audio quality in-game or disable audio10 disable antialias and anisotropic filtering11 lower your resolution12 lower texture resolution13 get a better cooler and overclock your systemstart to notice these things and you might find out what is making you lag... farcry555 0 Posted December 29, 2012 (edited) The computer can run it at low to mid specs...internet is fine at about 20 MBS...Made sure there was no processes eating at my CPU...I've set 6 cores to the game..the only thing left is the fan, but I can't take it out due to the warranty to clean it. This is probably the case, because from what I've seen, it shows all signs of overheating. I can run ArmA 2 maxed out with about 50 FPS though. Just to name a few.clean the insides(cords, fans, etc) with your choice(s)put the case back on, put cords in and restart the computer.
