Choppy/stuttering performance

Recommended Posts

Howdy

I've been going through forums, topics guides videos and everything to make this better.

Basically the problem is no matter what settings I use, the game is little bit choppy and stutter when I turn my head around places where I assume there are bunch of textures like cities, small villages.

PC specs:

AMD FX 4170 quad core

AMD 6870 1Gb

4gigs RAM

The game is also installed on SSD drive / coz I heard it helps on loading that many textures/not better so far.

Win7 64 bit ultimate

I tried editing the config file setting those GPU lines to 1, disabling the anti alising settings, all those things, in game post processing is off, also it doesnt seem to make too big of a difference if the game is running on low or high settings that chopiness around villages is still around.

I played around with AMD Catalyst settings, triple buffering etc.. not much help, tho I haven't got into that too much.

I got the steam version of the game, starting with SIX but closing them both after starting the game. (its the same without steam or SIX too tho)

Tried adding startup parameters setting specific core numbers, -winxp, maximum amount of RAM.

So I'm making this topic because I ran out of ideas and places to search for information. (there are no new topics about this just outdated ones, atleast thats the opnes I found)

(I may have forgotten to add some things)

Anyone with somekind of tips about this, what else I could try out.

Looking forward to your answers.

Cheers

If it is a laptop you could check and see if your using powersaver mode, it usually makes games choppy and stutter. Also maybe some other process is using alot of RAM which can cause lag and such. The best thing ive done to fix problems with my computer is searching the model and adding "gaming problems" or someting like "alienware M17x gaming lag".

It's not a laptop, I also got it on max performance at power settings. I just reinstalled the computer, basic programs on it. I was thinking about it might not like my CPU? Heard some games dont like this bulldozer series.
