A few questions about what you would like to see in a DayZ stream

Recommended Posts

I've been toying with streaming for a while now and have the ability to stream in full 1080p without taking a hit on gameplay. My real question is what would people like to see from a dayz stream? I know not everyone here watches streams, but there are still quite a few of you who do.

1. How much is enough quality wise? I don't want to alienate people with lower bandwidths, but still have great viewing quality.

2. Would you rather watch a bandit or a survivor/hero play style? Maybe you would rather just see someone doing silly shit?

3. Maps. What map would you like to see played the most?

4. How much talking is too much or not enough?

5. Music?

6. Stream schedule. What's a good consistent time to be live?

7. Events such as escorts, VIP, etc.

Let me know what you think and if there is a good response I'll try my best to deliver! Also I'm not trying to advertise my stream here unless requested(I know you guys hate that.)

TL:DR I stream what do?

1. I'd aim for 1080 but 720p if you need to, those with lesser bandwidths can run it in a lower quality. (I'm sure places like TwitchTV have the normal 360p, 480p and 720p etc.)

2. Bit of both, 'bandits' that just kill people for no reason are annoying as are stupid carebear heroes that ruin gameplay by doing nothing.

3. Chernarus mainly (It's what people are most familiar with) but any map really.

4. I like talking during the video if you are with a partner but I hate people who talk throughout the entire thing, it just means you can't hear what is going on.

5. Music during a game like DayZ is annoying, sound adds a lot to the game and is almost as important as what you can see.

6. I'd stream for whatever location you are in. Try stream for around 7-8pm in your own timezone, it means most people are back from school or their job and are relaxing.

7. Whatever.

That's what I personally like in a stream, hope it helps.

That's all great feedback thank you!

Edit: people can only change the quality if you are partnered with twitch. I may do 720 and have a second stream at a lower quality like 480. It sucks because I can do 1080p with no problems.
