Am I doing this right or screwing it up?

I got a gaming computer yesterday for Christmas, and I got it just for DayZ. I waited all night, and Arma 2 Combined Operations is installed off of Steam. I tried joining a DayZ server after installing it today, and it said my version of Arma 2 is outdated. As you probably know, you can't manually update Steam games.. I had been searching for a solution online, and I stumbled across the Wiki page on how to install DayZ. I hadn't downloaded the Beta patch and I hadn't edited the beta patch .cmd file either. I just finished doing that, should this fix my problem? Thanks!

Download "Dayz Commander" this will give you optins to update arma as well as DayZ.

Yup, just do what Allie says and you'll be good to go. Commander will update all of your Arma files to the most recent and will make sure you're running the latest version of DayZ too. That should solve all of your problems. Merry Xmas.

Only problem with dayz commander is it can be several beta patches behind, wish they'd sort this out as we try to keep our server on the latest beta patch just recently though this saw our server population go from full during day time (50 players) to just 6 or so, rolled back 5 patches to latest found in dayz commander and server is full again.

Aaprt from this dayz commander works well.
