If I want to chnage my players apperance in profile in the main menu is that safe?

I mean will it affect your player like you have changed skin and you end up in the ocean or is it risk free to change the apperance in the menu?

Is also safe to change it even if you have another skin than survivor skin in the game? I will not loose my other skin ingame just change my players apperance right?

Once you change your skin you have to play 15-30 minutes if you don't, once you the change skin and then disconnect and reconnect you will spawn in the sea.

Playing 15-30 minutes won't help you at all, If you have the latest beta patched installed, you won't glitched in the ocean. The new patch requires the beta patch, once you install it feel free to equip that camo or ghillie suit.

Me and my 3 friends have done that and its working fine with no problems, so Id say its risk free.

Except people are still reporting this happening with beta patches and on beta patch servers.

Yeah I spawned in the sea once with the beta patch after putting on the Cammo outfit, swam to shore still had my pack and everything in it but nothing in inventory...after that one time it didn't happen again, its somewhat unpredictable. I have never experienced any difficulties with changing player appearance though.
