Hello. I would like to state that this is not a CAN I RUN IT thread but rather component compatability.

So i hope santa was nice to you all!

I have got this build lined up.

Asus P8H77-V Intel Z77 DDR3 ATM Motherboard-

Intel Core I5-2500k 3.3ghz quad core processor-

Corsair vengeance 8gb (2x4gb) ddr3 1600-memory-

Saphhire Radeon HD 7850 Graphics card 2-gb

Asus Xonar DGX 24-bit 96khz sound card-

Windows 7 pro 64 bit-

160gb hdd -

Sony ad-7280s-ob dvd.cd write-

OCZ Vertex plus series 1206gb internal ssd serial ata-300 2.5

Zalman Z9 Plus Midi Tower Case

As you can see from the text in red, this is my problem. I am wondering whether I need to actually get a 1gb or a 2gb, could some please explain the pro'sa and con's and what they would do. I have to save a bit more cash for the 2gb but it is possible.

THANKS

Darryl

the 7850 only comes with 2GB of VRAM. Honestly it's a good futureproofing step to take. Adding the extra ram lets you use higher res textures, and it also allows you to have a larger resolution on screen. 2GB is very good is you're playing at 1080p or above.

In short, definitely a sick rig OP, enjoy putting most games to high and getting 50-60 fps!

Well thanks man I appreciate your honesty. Yeah this is my first rig so hopefully everything goes well.

Hope you had a great day with family

Much love

What motherboard is it you are going with?

You have both H77 chipset and Z77 chipset in the name, it has to be one or the other.

If you can save money by going for the i5 2500 rather than the i5 2500K, go for it.

The H77 chipset doesn't allow overclocking so there is no point in paying extra for an unlocked chip.

If it is a Z77 board you may as well go for the K series chip.

If you're planning on playing DayZ, try to edge yourself to an Nvidia card, I heard some bad stories with ATI cards glitching the heck out on the ArmA/Arma 2 engine... A 660 ti, or if that's too much, possible a 560 ti will do you some good!
