DayZ FPS drop

Recommended Posts

Got a new graphic card for my birthday (GTX 670) so i finally could play DayZ on the highest ghraphics, I thought. But no, I get a massive FPS drop down to about 20fps.

Altough, I can still play the original Arma 2: OA on the highest graphics, without any fps drop. I tried to uninstall DayZ and reinstall it but that didn't do the trick.

I havn't tried uninstall Arma 2 yet.

Does anyone know what I can do that should fix this issue?

I play dayZ on my laptop in 1080p 30 fps, shadows max, the graphics card in this game doesnt really matter, what matters is CPU, and you got to test to see if it is in fact the CPU thats holding up your GPU or vice-versa

But I can play on max graphics on Arma 2: OA so it shouldn't be anything wrong with my CPU, right?

Though keep in mind that the older Arma 2 map, Chernaurus, is in general more performance heavy due to its vegetation.

But perhaps there might still be a different issue. Just remember it's hard to compare the new OA maps with the lush forests of Chernaurussia.

Yes you are probably right. Although, the paranoid me tells me to reinstall the game, because I have downloaded a lot of modded maps for both DayZ and Arma, so I'll probably do that.

Otherwise, I think I just have to wait for the standalone to skip the lag.
