Freezing every few seconds

In dayz and in arma 2 (and OA) both freeze every 5-10 seconds or so for about 5 seconds. Ive seen many forum post concerning this matter, but none of them seem to help me. This also just recently started happening. I used to be able to run both of them perfectly fine, no sure what happened.

Edit: I also forgot to add that this happens in arma 2 SINGLEPLAYER as well as in multiplayer with the same exact lag/freeze
