Spawn in an 'open field'

Alright, so from what I understand when I join a server for the first time I should spawn somewhere near the coast... this isn't the case. I've tried dozens of servers, and everyone of them (if they load) I'm in the middle of nowhere with nothing around me. No trees, no shrubs, no houses.. you get the idea..

What's the deal?

I'm running DayZ off my Steam version of ARMA 2 OA, and it's been updated to 1.7.1. I "installed" ARMA Beta 93825, though I'm not too sure whether it actually does anything to the Steam version.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

it does all the things.

Try rolling back to the previous beta, 93701 and finding a server that doesn't enforce 93825.
