Arma 2 OA running at 1fps

i load up Arma 2 OA to find it is running at less the 1 fps, usualy my comp is fine with games e.g. total war any fixs for this problem, im getting so annoyed at this

HELP MEH !!!!!

Have you tried changing your graphics settings? If you're confused on what to turn off/on, there's some tutorials somewhere on these forums that worked really well for me.
