True 7.1 with DayZ - Arma2

Hey!

I'm planning to buy a Razer Tiamat 7.1 surround headset.

But does DayZ/Arma2 support 7.1 at all?

uh, well not sure about if it specifically, and officially supports 7.1, but I'm using 5.1 surround sound headphones....and its awesome sauce.

Yeah I bought a Razer carcharias...a slightly cheaper ($70) 5.1 alternative (which I wouldn't waste money on again).

Bought it based on comments on the forums here on how I must have a headset to play..

Gotta admit...I still couldn't reliably tell where gunshots were coming from, other than left or right.

My crappy old $25 headset gave me the same audio quality with less comfort.

So I hope that answers your question...or maybe my hearing is fucked up and I should see a professional (quite possible)

It helps to have 5 speakers in each ear, like mine. :P

Some are better than others. Hard to find good ones.

edit: I'm not familiar with that model, or brand really. Without trying to insult your intelligence...you have them hooked up correctly I assume? lol

I can only suggest my Tritton headphones, as they're the only ones I have had any experience with. I can vouch that 5.1 is supported, so if 7.1 isnt support for whatever reason, you'll at least have 5.1
