Debug monitor Ideas

Recommended Posts

First things first, I don't know if this has been suggested before and I am in no condition to go through the thousands of "stop killing me" threads. I am hungover and tired.

I was just thinking about the Debug Monitor, why do we have zed kills, murders and bandit kills displayed as something to be proud of, and to strive after?

In my opinion such stats such be displayed upon death, so you can see what you have accomplished, if displayed at all.

This is a survival sim, not an FPS, the only reason I can see for these scores is bandits clapping their fat little hands at how many survivors they've killed, and survivors on how many zeds they've killed. But paper has been invented, keep track of it yourself.

Just my two cents, let the flaming of my person commence.

I can see only one up/down to this, so here they are:

Down- you will be unable to know whether you have or haven't successfully killed an enemy player if you got into a firefight with them.

Up- More realistic, you now need to walk over to the person you were fighting with to perform a "dead check" to make sure they are not just unconscious.

True, didn't think of that, but I would think that having to confirm your kill yourself isn't a downside, it adds both excitement and realism.
