All f-ed up!!! Why all the problems?

Just bought this game yesterday, downloaded it, followed the guide here.. well over half the servers don't work because i have the 1.7.1 version or something like that? I have a high end computer and the graphics are on par with garbage, that's maxed out too.(mainly the FPS and massive graphics glitches like the ground beneath you appearing grey) But the biggest part is all my friends and I try to play, we find a server, connect fine etc etc but when we enter the game myself, and another on of my friends spawn in the middle of some random ass field of nothingness that is never-ending... Why is that and how do i fix it?? I am really upset as i watched probably 3 hours of game play before deciding to buy it for 30$ and now that i cant even play it for 5 minutes tops i'm really really really upset with the purchase...

ok, the thing with the server vers is a lil problem right now... there is a new patch and have the same problem ... the fps is sometimes realy bad if u join a highping server... search a something between 10-40 ... this would be fix ur problem.

and the "some random ass field of nothingness that is never-ending..." ... thats the game ... a u have to love it ... most time of the game u searching for something or someone ... thats dayz :) (i love it)

and if u got some problem with orientation ... searching a map or go to dayzmap.info

I heard that this field is a glitch or something? its just a giant plain with no trees or anything on it and nothing in sight.

fun fact: steam says i have played Arma 2 OA for 9 hours and not a single minute of that goes towards literally playing the game.

It is an Aplha, What did you excpect an whole Standalone game with all the features to the people belongs ?

GTX560 (SC) @ 2.5GB

And even I have problems running it all maxed out.

Just make the best off it and dont whine your ass off, It aint gonna help development like that.

Well minecraft HAD an alpha stage and it was atleast playable. See the thing is, I CANNOT DO ANYTHING. I SPAWN ON A GIANT PLAIN WITH NO VEGITATION, TREES, HOUSES, NOTHING. <------------------------------ Thats what i would like to fix.

you didn't correctly install the patch so you are spawning in an area that the game puts you when it doesn't know what to do with you, go look up how to install the beta and it might fix your problems. also... just to point out since dicks like you think everything is catered, This is a MOD developed by ONE PERSON on arma 2, you bought arma 2, you didn't buy Dayz.. it's being made with literally 0$ direct revenue... so how about you do some research and grow a fucking brain before you come on the forums and complain about shit. there are SO many threads with the answer you are looking for already on here, and instead of looking for it you expect us to magicly fix it for you. there are 3825925234 bugs in dayz, if they frustrate you, bye.

Buy ARMA II, and install DayZ they said!

IT will be fun they said!

AND THEY WERE RIGHT!

You have to download the new version 1.7.1.5

and the DayZ beta patch in here!

Then open ARMAIIOA from the folder, and enable the expansion!

This is an Alpha, what did you really expect?

I think the game is awesome tho! I'm glad i have the opportunity to improve this projekt and mod!
