Cannot play this mission/edit

I've downloaded the additional mod maps, Celle etc.. But when I attempt to join a server, I'm immediately kicked with an error saying, "Cannot play this mission/edit blah blah".

I used DayZ Commander to download the maps, and please don't link me to Google.com or tell me to search Google, because I already have.

I often have this problem too.

Other threads have said you need to copy the contents of your addons folder to your expansion/addons folder (for me this meant duplicating an extra 8.1gb of files !).

Other threads say you need to update your Arma 2 Beta to the latest version, or to one specific to the server you want to connect to.
