Bloodsuckers on Namalsk (Screenshots)

Recommended Posts

Here are some screenshots of Bloodsuckers on Namalsk, I don't know if this is well known or not so try not to get your knickers in a twist if it is.

I just spent the last couple of hours writing up the story on what happened during my encounter with the Bloodsuckers; since I thought some might enjoy that. But alas it's amazing how much time and work clicking 'back' on the wrong tab can destroy.

For those who don't know Bloodsuckers are monsters/creatures out of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. universe. If you've never played a S.T.A.L.K.E.R. game they are post-apocalyptic worlds based in and around chernobyl. They can also be extremely terrifying. Bloodsuckers are horrible but awesome monsters, they aren't exactly common, they are hard to kill, can turn invisible, have tentacles and emit a horrifying roar.

Anyway, here you are:

P.S. these are all real screenshots, none are photoshopped or made outside of DayZ. The only other mod used is the Namalsk map mod.

THREE at the same time ? Holy crap ! Namalsk must be a nightmare in 0.72 ! Do they attack the Zombies too, or just the player ?

Yes they are considerably harder to kill than zombies. The fact that they are invisible at a distance means you can't really take them on far away, but up close they will rip you to shreds in a few seconds if they get enough hits.

And no they don't attack zombies, in fact both the zombies and Bloodsuckers were attacking me at the same time!

P.S. It seems all Namalsk is infested with these now, I tried to find a spot where they didn't spawn, but they spawn everywhere; even on top of snowy mountains. Game over man! Game over!

Oh their eyes also glow at night, just something to freak you out a bit more; and they don't seem to drop anything. Have fun!

Just a little tip for anyone who wants to know.

Unlike zombies, the bloodsuckers can get you when hiding in large trees or bushes.

Now you might think that's unfair but it really does make things interesting and a little more difficult.

There is one thing I have noticed the Bloodsuckers can't do though. and that's climb ladders. I killed 3 with nothing but a G17 (headshots work yippie!) whilst up a deer stand. The only real threat was the zombies climbing the ladder.

Hope this helps :)

Were they hard to kill?

not really.

they approach, and once they become visible, move a step away so you won't get hit, aim for the head, shoot.

few shots to the head with any gun should do.

their damage is higher then from zombies, but you can take quite a few beats.

they won't follow you into buildings - except for barracks. i was prone for like 2-3 minutes, killing zeds, and suddenly one of these beasts was right next to me, so don't feel save anywhere i guess.

their sounds are scary as hell, now they just need to live up to it close up :D

They will follow you into a lot of buildings. I have had Bloodsuckers follow me into:

- Supermarket

- 3 types of industrial buildings

- multiple types of houses

However you are safe if you break the window of a hospital and go inside, like zombies they can't follow you in. It stands there and it's easy to kill.

I was attacked by four Bloodsuckers at once at a heli crash site on a mountain. Luckily I had just found a SAW which dealt with them relatively easily :)
