do you think peripheral dots will be in dayz standalone?

...and to add to that, do we see white floating blobs in real life..?

...no...

...the white blobs must be killed...

Kill 'em all...

Than how would you simulate perpheral vision in game? This is something that has to be anwsered or we will be losing part of the simulation.

I just don't think it's worth including peripheral vision at all... It's already in because of arma basically.

DAYZ really doesn't need it imo, it helps break immersion too.

What's the point of trying to fully reduce screen clutter hud when you've got floating blobs everywhere..?

I had two back-to-back experiences where I was down to less than 1000 blood. Blurred vision, shaking screen, passing out while walking up hill or running, the whole nine yards.

The first time I was on a Merc. server without dots. I spent two hours wandering through fields hoping for a cow but expecting a bullet. I saw a couple rabbits but had no chance of hitting them in my condition. Finally, I spotted a white blob that slowly transformed into a goat as I approached. Those steaks never tasted so good. I'm not sure I would describe the experience as fun but I did have a sense of accomplishment at the end.

The second time I was on a Vet. server with dots. Within 15 minutes I had killed a pig and two sheep and was back in fighting shape. I barely noticed.

Dots would be pretty high on my list of "features" to cut.

wow, well i'm glad you really enjoyed scenario one Heiduk, but it just sounds like an awful fucking unnecessary grind of shitness for two hours imo, as someone else stated earlier, they should not extend beyond the visual range of a player and should be line of sight, job would be a good un..

interesting to read how it is the difference playstyle are using the radar. when i am "camping" and u are trying to hunt to me to stop me i already know u are coming at me for this radar dots show it when the zed chase u at 1km away lol. i not really notice the dots when i am running in a fight but when i am camping then i am rely at them almost 100%. and when i need to know if there is players to kill in that city in front of me in an building or behind a hill i look down and to AWAY to be seeing the radar dots on the side are moving u know. so ridiculous for normally u must look AT something to see it but at dayz u must look away and zoom then just watch the dots:) it's a radar like this. radar does not "fit in" at dayz, but only at the arcade PVP games. i have read rocket say he like to have the minimum UI so i hope its not there!

The way the dots are implemented at the time is simply stupid, you can see helicopters from hundrets of meters away even if the are hidden behind dense trees and bushes

I am though a fan of the third person view and the dots oif they were implemented right, such as only showing something that is moving and out of your screen, and big/close enough to detect

A rabbit giving a detection dot three times bigger than the actual rabbit... yeah...

When you play the game in "mercenary" mode, so NO 3rd person cheat, no tags, no CH, then there are NO dots.

It is just that 99% of servers run on "cadet" mode, with 3rd person, with CH, with Tags.

Hardly any servers have CH and tags, check your ego.

wow... just learning that these dots exist... HAHA man i guess by now i just have superior awareness skills because ive never once noticed "peripheral dots" in my months of playing dayz.

and now i cant unknow it...

so now im expecting my dayz experience to be a lot less immersive...
