Error creating direct 3d graphical engine*FIXED*

getting a "Error creating direct 3d graphical engine" error when trying to launch using my beta shortcut. Here's the path

"C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2 Operation Arrowhead\Expansion\beta\arma2oa.exe" -beta=Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion" -mod=@dayz

Tried googling but im not getting any help.

Not using steam.

If it helps i've attached my entire file path as an image...might be a bit confusing but just read it from the top to bottom.

Try putting the arma2oa.exe file that's in the beta folder into the main ARMA 2 OA folder.

Also create a back up of the current arma2.exe file in case you need to go back to it.

Gonna have to be a bit more specific than that friend, i appreciate the prompt response and hope your still around.

I did your first line and no change. Still getting the 3d error. But why did you want me to mess with my arma2.exe file?

Yes sir, copied the exe out of Expansions/beta and put it in Operation arrowhead, overwriting the original file. then i launched from the altered beta shortcut.

Does my path for that shortcut look okay?

Sorry trying to help the best I can, I'm using the steam version and doing what I did fixed it for a few people.

Instead of just having "-mod=@dayz";

try "-mod=expansion;expansion\beta;expansion\beta\expansion;@DayZ -skipIntro -noSplash"

That puts me into the game but then i get a "you cannot play/edit this mission it is dependent on downloadable content that has been deleted.cherneraus"

Im not sure. im using an operation arrowhead shortcut. How do i go about using combined operations?

i think i got it. I opened my "arma II launcher" application, went to launch options and set it to run beta. pointed the arma 2 OA beta launch to my beta file in my expansions folder. the arma II beta was blank

You need to launch the game as combined operations otherwise dayz won't work.

Seeing you haven't bought through steam, you need to download a third party program that combines the two .exes into a launcher.

Here's a video that should help you. The guy guides through for both the steam and non steam version:

Not sure what you mean. If you mean buying it somewhere other than steam, you can buy it on the bohemia interactive page. Im fairly certain its cheaper if you do that as well.

The third party "mod" is something called "arma II launcher"
