tents still not able to be placed "anywhere" despite 1.7.1 patch notes

according to patch notes, they are able to be placed anywhere.

and yes i realize tent placing is still an issue.

We were unable to place tents in a forested area either. It was flat all around, so not sure what we were doing wrong. We ended up going back to the ol, placing tents in a open field.

I have also tried the new update today and tents still are fucking ridiculous to place, kinda lame really.

FYI, in order to place tents, you need to be moving. Open gear, start moving forward slowly, hit "Pitch tent". That has worked in clearings in the past so I'd try it in a clearing before moving to woods to see if it works for you.

I was able to get two tents placed int he woods. I had my inventory open and was moving slowly trying to hit the right spots.

Tents are still picky though.

when i finally start placing the tent it disappears from the inventory, the character does the mimic of placing the tent you can hear the sound and everything, but then the tent reappears inside the gear and no tent was place what is going on???

Tent duping also still works as well, probably related to how tents are deployed (or rather... not deployed at this moment in time).

i have already tried to put a tent down there for half an hour. went back and forth.. till i found a new deer stand ^^

How to place a tent:

1. Find an opening, like you have there

2. Open the inventory and right click the tent

3. Shuffle around slowly within a small area and keep clocking

4. Usually after 20 seconds or so, the tent will be placed

5. Immediately close the inventory the moment the animation starts

6. You have a tent...

7. ...sometimes with another 4 tents glitched inside it
