Frostbite.

Recommended Posts

Okay so in Dayz when you get cold you get a infection. Well realistically cold weather doesn't actually make you get sick. People spend more times indoors....breathing on each other. For anyone who wants to disagree read this. http://coldflu.about...ndweather.htm

But I think the infection should only come from being near infected players and getting hit by zombies. Instead being in cold weather should still cause you to shake but should also give you frostbite which works like this.

Frostbite prevents your character from sprinting. Frostbite causes VERY slow blood loss. Frost bite makes you shake A LOT! Twice as much as you shake normally when cold. Frostbite makes you do things slowly. A example being it takes you 4 seconds to reload a gun with frostbite it takes 10. Frostbite gets worst overtime. Frostbite slowly goes away as your character heats up. Frost bite can be prevented by staying warm.... obviously. You get it by staying in the cold for to long like a infection.

Also on a side note with I saw a "cool" suggestion about adding seasons to Dayz. http://dayzmod.com/f......_seasons I think that would be "cool" so we could have a Winter. I think if rocket does this he should also add the warm clothing from Namalsk.

If you have ways to improve this ideal or see a problem with it feel free to say it. Remember to use constructive criticism.

I like it throw in stages of hypothermia for Namalsk type settings and have the frosbite body parts require the need to bandage them. Also depending on the body part have it restrict your player i.e. frostbite fingers you aim is always shaking even with pain killers and it will deteriorate to the point when you cannot fire your weapon. I'm not sure how to thaw the body parts other than with a fire pit or heatpacks and would you want it so they parts remained screwed like IRL or for game purposes thaw out and you can heal yourself fully?

I'm liking this. You could put trench foot in too for prolonged exposure to wet weather with the wrong footwear. Hypothermia.

Along with the infection/illness stuff there's a big list of symptoms to deal with. :beans:
