Did the patch wipe the characters?

Yesterday evening I logged out my 18-day character near the NE airfield with a group of buddies. Full health, no Zs or players around.

I just installed the 1.7.1 patch and logged back into the game and my char started on the beach, all equipment/stats lost.

Buggy main server or intended feature? I don't care too much about the equipment but "losing" a 2+week old char this way is...sad.

i just raidet the ne arirfield too and logt out today after updating i logt in...startet in some wood somewhere whit 3 players around me that shot me .....so mad

I logged back in after the update in the same spot with the same weapons. I would imagine your issue is server related
