Only see Hud when joining a server. I believe i can move.

So when i join a server i see like a night sky i know its not dark i can see the hud and like the commands and people talking but nothing else?

Update: I don't know what i did just kept joining servers but i no longer see darkness im in a forest don't see my character only see the HUD and a forest i have tried re-spawning but nothing. Ill update with any progress

Last Update: So i fixed it i was joining the wrong server version at least when i join a 1.7.1 i can move it was dark but i think it was due to the night but when it was dark earlier it wasn't the in game day/night cycle there was a problem hope someone gets help from this GL

I am having this exact same problem. Earlier the servers reset and ever since then when I log in all i see is the HUD and its pitch black outside. There is also no sound. Everyone else on the server seems to be playing just fine.
