Another possible hacker attack or admin abuse

Recommended Posts

Just a little while ago, 5/7/2012 at around 6:50PM EST on the EU10 server.

Me and some buddies were investigating the NE airfield when all of a sudden, EVERYONE connected (~50 people) to the server was teleported to cherno. Massive FPS drop, shots began to fire, me and my buddies proceeded to disconnect suspecting another hacker attack.

We regroupped, and connected to FR1. We were now split up, half of our group in cherno and the other half in the northern wilderness. This is already annoying but hey, better than all of us being dead. After a few minutes, around 7:20PM EST, the SAME thing happened. Everyone on the server teleported to cherno, this time at a different warehouse, massive fps drop, and we disconnected. I browsed the forums, checked in with a few friends, and decided to come here and post.

Looks like the popularity of the game is attracting undesirable people and 1.5.5 might even have some kind of security flaw. Either that or these two servers are having a bad case of admin abuse (not sure what admin capabilities there are with the arma II engine having never adminned a server.

Wasn't sure which forum to post this to so, i figured here was as good as anywhere.

The more attention DayZ gets the more bad-appels from CoD and BF3 will jump over to try their trolling on new people. I have no idea how god/bad Arma's security is, but I doubt it sinks as much as Origin, or whatever DICE is using for BF3.

BF3 uses punk buster which in real world terms means nothing to protect itself from hackers

It's real shame that selfish people are ruining the fun for others. Sure it's a good laugh for the person hacking, but if they actually had the personal character to step back and look at what they were doing, they would see how really sad and kind of embarrassing the way they are acting is. If any of them doing this are over 15 years of age, they have my pity.

This is ages old hack, I wonder if BIS has no idea what makes it possible since it has been around so long and BattleEye doesn't detect it.

I once saw entire server population teleported to one place and blown up with fucking huge bomb in ArmA2OA.

Hi, I'm the only admin of EU10 other than the server provider, I've been offline all day at work. Admin abuse can be ruled out here. :)

I'm sorry your play experience wasn't the best I will follow up with the people I lease this from and see if I can find out what happened.

I hope you understand I meant no offense. Glad to hear from the admin of the server though. Just trying to help develop an alpha mod I love, stuff like this is the reason why PC gaming is all but dead compared to it's console counter-part.

Keep us posted if you can on the offender/s. And thank you for the server to play on =D.

Not just your server, the person or persons has been hitting the Dallas servers as well. We have seen wall hacks, maps revealing all players, killing of the entire server population all at once and nuke spawns.

Earlier this night on Dallas 4 we had a report of a hacker wandering around Cherno spamming RPG's and demolishing buildings. :/

Screenshot' date=' this right?

Oh man, that was a strange evening. And that screenshot is only a fraction of what happened.

First I hear in chat that people are getting teleported into Cherno. Then, my friend and I are also teleported. Flares, chemlights and shooting everywhere.

Then everyone is teleported into the ocean, far far away from land. After 5 minutes hanging around in the pool party, everyone is teleported to that place you see in the screenshot. For me, some were running into walls, others just standing around.

Oh, and massive lag spikes and time-out countdowns all the time. Backpacks and inventory randomly disappearing etc.

Fun times.
