bgivenb 5 Posted June 17, 2012 In the past week, over 75 thousand new players have joined the DayZ Alpha. Even if only half of those players didn't own the base game before they downloaded DayZ, BIS would have made.... (drum roll please...)$1,125,000!!!If anyone has more exact info, feel free to add to the thread, but this is just a rough guess. To all the vet Arma 2 players (myself included) DayZ is truly one of the best things to happen to Arma 2 since its release. That's an extra cold million that will go to fixing Arma 2 for everyone, and making an ALREADY awesome looking Arma 3 even better. Not fanboying here, but although there were loads of sweet mods for Arma 2, it's strange and exciting how this is turning out. May BIS always stay true to their modding roots. Cheers and kudos to Rocket and BISOh, and I just watched the Czech Republic beat Poland to make it to the quarter finals today in soccer (football for the euros), so I think the guys at BIS are out celebrating two epic wins today
jattl 0 Posted June 17, 2012 I remember a few months ago, Arma 2 was almost dead. Now DayZ come sout and it brings life to this game.
unsobill 0 Posted June 17, 2012 that number probably bigger but don't count money that not yours. congrats to dev anyway
heathy87 1 Posted June 17, 2012 Honestly I hope Rocket and all the folks at BI the best with DayZ, its almost like watching CS again through it metamorphosis into a fully fledged game. you guys have made something fun and refreshing that ppl want to play and its good. I don't want to detract from arma 2 itself either, one of the reasons i never got it in the first place was because my pc at the time couldn't run it. warfare is fun and with dayz it made it a worthy purchase for me i hope to get many hours of fun from both arma 2's influx of players and dayz itself. Jemoeder 51 Posted June 17, 2012 Before DayZ I didint even know what Arma 2 was lol...I think they should spend like 10-15% into DayZ ATLEAST...
Castle (DayZ) 23 Posted June 17, 2012 The retailers made some money off those sales too. I have no idea how much it is but a haphazard guess would say BIS didn't get more than 70%.
FieldMedic 7 Posted June 17, 2012 Rocket should get a raise if he hasn't already!
xls.akm@gmail.com 0 Posted June 17, 2012 Those numbers are quite impressive indeed, especially for a mod. And in my opinion they deserve every little bit of it.Rocket should get a raise if he hasn't already!Agree 100%
