Here's next suggestion:

Bullet zone tracking system.

Something like in Dead Space 2.

IF you hit legs - zombie will loose them, and couldn't walk anymore.

If you shoot into hands - zombie looses hands, and cannot attack you with hands anymore.

Headshot is a Headshot.

Body shot will do normal damage, nothing specific.

So if horde of zombie approaches you, aim their legs, and shoot their legs off, so they won't be able to walk/run anymore. Only crawling slowly.

I like the idea but i think this would up the age limit to 18 or something like this

I like the idea, and I don't think dismemberment would increase the age limit, as long as it doesnt create a huge cloud of blood like in movies..

It's already like this except for the hand part. Hit a zombies legs, they break and then crawl. Hit their head and it's a one hit kill, chest is normal damage.

But OP and others in other thread are talking about gore. If I shoot a zombie in the chest with a .50 cal, it should explode. If I shoot them in the leg, that leg should no longer be attached.
