Number of vehicles on standard game servers

Recommended Posts

I found some notes on a wiki for DayZ that said one pickup truck per server.

Does that mean if someone finds it, takes it......and then leaves it someplace and is good at using it regularly so it never despawns...the pickup truck will never appear at the spawn points ? (until that person finally loses it ?)

Thanks

Until it is destroyed yeah. Or some server bug thing.

Yup, thats pretty much how it works, though ive played on public servers that have 2 white pickup trucks.

The dayz wiki is not all that accurate.

The wiki is inaccurate, so is DayZdb. It's especially noticeable since the 1.7.4.4 update...

Take what wiki says as a guide but don't rely on it IMHO.

thats how it should be, not all these stupid 600+ vehicles 20+helo servers......

Yup, I've played on some servers that have 80 vehicles and thought that amount was rediculously too much but the next gen kiddies seem to want easy mode and have 200+ vehicles that spawn already fixed up and 5+ heli's that they think they know how to fly(on autohover).

One more point is the admin's need to run an event.

A check box - this makes the server check for vehicles that are 90% or more damaged to be respawned.

If this box is not checked, no new vehicles respawns will happen.

On my server I leave the box checked.

However I have seen private servers that 'hog' all the vehicles they want/need.

Then blow up the rest and never check the box, private clans are good for this.....

So the clan has all the vehicles they want and new spawns are without wheels.

Wrong - Yes

Happening - Yes
