I've learned my lesson!

Recommended Posts

Hello dear DayZ players. This is my first post, but not my first time here, as I've been lurking for quite some time. Anyways, I've come to share my most recent experience in DayZ and to share my reason to decide to become a bandit.

Today, I was a happy go lucky survivor, just spawned near Otmel and Drakon. I decided that it would be fun to go to Elektro and to see if I could find any good gear. So, I headed towards town and started on my journey. Along the way, I picked up several items ranging from a watch and hunting knife to an m1911 and a winchester. Feeling like a boss, I head into town along the outskirts along the ocean.

Eventually, I work my way around and climb up the fire station's tower to have some fun. After getting about 30 kills and 25 headshots, I go afk for a short time. I come back, and to my surprise, there's a survivor staring at me, so I immediately type "friendly, please don't shoot". After a brief exchange, we go on our ways and never see each other again.

Fast forwards 30 mins or so and I'm heading out of elektro, when suddenly some guy starts sprinting at me "don't shoot bro, please, i need help". Now, the caring survivor that I am, I don't shoot, and help him get rid of some pursuing zombies. After expressing his gratitude, he asks me to help him kill a survivor "with a sweet gun" in the fire station. Now, I was skeptical, since I was just there, but I agreed, not really having any choice, as I saw he had an AK47.

So, I follow him to the station, find it empty, and keep going, until I see a bunch of zombies running towards the offices. I am excited, because I might, for the first time ever, have a cool gun. I write to my friend "he's over there, there's zombies chasing him!" To which he acknowledges, and we move in.

There's two of them, both well armed. My friend proceeds to engage them, killing one, and the other flees to the back. Seeing my chance, I move in through the front door, find the other, and shoot at him, with my friend getting the killshot. We did, I thought to myself...time to get some loot. So, I find the body, grab his M4 and ammo, and begin to tell my friend that we did good.

Blam. One through my skull.

So. Moral of the story? Being bandit is more fun, I suppose. I thank this guy for convincing me to become the bandit I secretly always wanted to be. Thanks for reading!

Dude I am in the same boat as you, I try to help people, not expecting or even wanting a reward for helping them, only to keep waking up on the beach. In all honesty unless im chatting with you on skype it seems that one of us is probably going to end up dead and lately its been me. I think its about time I join you and become a bandit :\
