Is this fps alright?

I have tried some fps tricks, not much but few.. but I don't feel like anything helped. That performance is so bad that I don't even trust that something can help. I just want to know if this is right with my PC rig.

CPU is OCed to 3.5 ghz, arma process is on high prio.

even in BF3 with far far better graphics and more players it's 30+ fps and smooth gameplay. In arma 2, dayz map specifically, except this fps it's far away from smooth, game have like 1 second delay, even with mouse look, so no, it's not lag. It's like i'm playing on a wooden pc... but i'm noot :/ or? Hey ppl with similar PC, how is ur gameplay?

Its a problem with ArmA2 because its programmed so poorly, i can play BF3 on ultra without any issues, but DayZ's Framerate sucks for me too

I think some people put it down to the Post-Processing being on, on the graphic settings.

Either that, or I'm a disgusting liar and I deserve to be put down.

DayZ, or well Arma II's engine is poorly optimized. The only thing you really can do in order to increase your FPS there would be to either turn down your visability (As it will load for 1700m which really isnt needed. I'd turn that down to... 800-1000m if I were you.

Otherwise Arma 2 runs poorly on 64-bit, so yeh..

Your computer specs arent really that impressive honestly, 30 FPS on BF3 isn't good because it's optimized extremly well. I'm running 90-110 FPS on Ultra on BF3, and I'll run with maybe 40 FPS in the cities on DayZ because it's optimized so poorly. Otherwise I'm stable 60 FPS outside of Cherno and Elektro.

alright no good news. I turned visibility to 500m, and no change, maybe 1-2 fps, who knows. The biggest problem is that delayed mouse look, that's so annoying, I'm used to low fps, I never had high end PC, but i'm not used to that mouse look :/ And i know, 30 fps in BF3 on very low setings is good, but I simply don't know where is the problem. The OC helped me a little bit with BF3, but i'm still on 100% cpu use and mentioned +-30 fps.

Buy a new PC seems to be the only way out :/ Anyway many ppl are confused with my situation, almost everyone said that I should have far better performance in games with my pc setup. But i'm not a newbie in this, I tried everything what I have found.

I wonder how arma 3 is going be optimized, what I saw there is going to be crazy graphic

The server locks your visibility at whatever number it feels like, this is to allow people to hide in grass. This is one of the major reasons for different performance on different servers.

From my knowledge of the arma engine, it is cpu heavy. Meaning your graphics card is under very light load. A lot of cards will stay down-clocked to conserve power if the gpu load doesnt reach a certain percent. Mine usually hovers around 30%, which isnt good for a fps. You can turn power saving off in your gfx card control panel, it helped my fps a bit but you'll still get a memory leak after playing for a while.

I have a significant increase in the fps by using RAMDisk. Oshi7 made a nice tutorial about it:

Dayz is VERY CPU intensive with my 5ghz I7 2700k and crossfire 7959's maximum settings averages 30fps If I down clock the CPU to 3.5ghz the fps drops to around 7 so until you have a faster CPU it will just have to be played on low settings

Draxx thx for the tip. I have just done that, but can't see any difference. Who knows if I did it right, because I have steam version. Anyway it seems to be a little weird to copy only dayz folder because u are running arma2 game with a little mod, not a dayz game.

But those porn sites in the video have killed me :D

Oh man, I just realized what was problem with my mouse look. The "smoothing" thingy in the controls, such a annoying feature
