Logging Out

How is one "supposed" to log out?

I tried the Abort>Disconnect>Disconnect just now, joined another server, and was started as a brand new character (all my gear=gone) that spawned inside a building in some town.

So I left, rejoined the previous server, and was still where I had left with all my gear.

To my understanding of the this game, that is not how it's supposed to work. Help?

Read the changelog for the 1.7.3s new combat system.

You obviously did not just read his post.

Anyhow; The server you have gear on may be a private hive, or the one you are trying to join may be a private hive. This means those servers are separate from each other and the main hive. If you want to play on more than one server, and have the same gear, use DayZ commander and use the 'Hide Unofficial' filter.
