Stuck on loading or receiving data

I have been trying to play DayZ for the first time for the past 3 hours. I have encountered problem after problem trying to join servers, and have fixed most. I still haven't been able to play at all since I installed it. Right now the problems I am having are the loading taking FOREVER to finish and then saying I lost connection to the host, and if I do somehow get past that loading phase I get stuck on receiving data forever...
