Walled Compounds and using them as a base.

Recommended Posts

Hey folks,

Whilst playing DayZ and coming across all these walled areas I couldn't help thinking how cool they'd be if they were a kickass base, I know it's not the best place for a proper camp to hide your loot but maybe some kind of FOB. I don't know a lot of people to play with so turning one into a base on my own probably wouldn't turn out good.

I've seen some videos on youtube of some groups turning the factory at Orlovets into a cool base with helos on the roof, a bus as the gate, etc. But there are loads of other places where you'd just need some barb wire and tank traps to fill in the gaps.

This brings me onto another thing of a more permanent barricade. Bring in a new vehicle, a fork lift and a new object, 'pallet of bricks', the bricks would be too big to climb over/taken down by one person, ramming it with a vehicle would damage the vehicle and slightly damage the bricks, maybe with a Ural you could ram through but other than that or blowing them up it'd be better then what we've got, anyone with a toolbox can take down tank traps and barb wire, reckon 2/3 per server with the pallets spawning near industrial buildings maybe 25%. Image.

Has anyone else ever thought of this?

Cheers,

a new object, 'pallet of bricks'

What about widden pallets?

Castles with drawbridges, moats and alligators is your only real protection.

What about an underground tunnel system patrolled by explosive guard chickens?

its a good idea, but zombies spawn in, and that draws attention...

I remember defending the factory while we had a hele parked on the roof in for repairs, thats a nice place, if you could secure it from zombies and woodland snipers

Sure.. And after hours of work a hacker will just carpet bomb ur base.

I'd rather them fix the game then add things that are superficial.
