Just sharing my experience with Private Hive

So I started playing on private servers a few weeks ago and so far I have been enjoying it better than public servers. For one thing I like the idea of sticking to a specific server and building a rapport with the admins and other players. It makes the game much more social and I find that you tend to learn more as you go along. Another added benefit is that I don't seem to encounter many hackers anymore, apart from the occasional abusive admin (DONT ABUSE YOUR SERVERS!). I find that when you find a good server and start building up your character it makes for an interesting story.

My experience so far has netted me 3 new "dayz friends" and we have setup a camp with two vehicles now. Occasionally we will raid for supplies together and meet other clans or groups of friends along the way. I'd like to know about other people's experience with Private servers since I am thinking of renting one out my self. Please share your experiences with me, any feedback will be much appreciated :)

The admin: phone_microwave is a cool guy who is active on the side chat and VERY FRIENDLY (He once drove 4km to save me from starvation and even suited me up with some guns and supplies) I also like this server cause its 1st person only ( Makes the game much more realistic) and night time is on :) BEST part is that the admin and his clan don't abuse us and we have had some fun but friendly battles over the past weeks. It's also my favorite map... LINGOR :D :D

Finding a good server is the key to enjoying DayZ. Many of the complaints I see on the forums are from people playing on a server that just isn't being run very well. It looks like you've found a great one with some good admins. Enjoy.

They shot you with friendly bullets? What sort of ammo is that and where can I find it?
