assassin_ukg 8 Posted November 26, 2012 (edited) i don't think you understand the meaning of "bots" in computer games.I do and have made a few bots in the past but quickly realized it not only ruined my own game but others.Btw their is NO difference in a bot for a game to say a bot for uploading photos. They all automate a process.. that's it...Now i suggest to you, that do not know the meaning of the word "bot" in any sense. With regards to your previous comments even if they have checks to find running process accessing their application, Their WILL be a way around it... Their always is, hence the existence of Hacks in the world now..This is not something your going to stop or even hinder. Its just how it is.Thanks for your view... jimbojones 0 Posted November 29, 2012 I code applications and provide free solutions (Malware Free) Like a man.......EDIT: I honestly don't see why you lot are hating... I made an app ON REQUEST from countless people, i provided it malware free for FREE.....And you maon? I don't get it... I mean if i had charged or made you filll out a survey or twisted your arm into using it (which im not) i could fully understand...If you not interested or will not use it why are you even posting? It's obviously not for you!I bet Rocket wonders the same thing about Dayz Mod on some days...
TheDesigner 1197 Posted November 29, 2012 (edited) Won't make me coffee... ? Why the hell would I download it then?I have my handy dandy 5kg fishing weight for this though :P. Edited November 29, 2012 by TheDesigner
bibbish 49 Posted November 29, 2012 I have tendinitis in my left wrist. Sometimes in DayZ I run long distance. I'll consider downloading this as it will save me a lot of actual pain. Loads of people asked for it, so thanks.
Sula 1205 Posted November 29, 2012 (edited) I think it's a great idea. It has nothing to do with laziness. I get a lot of pain in my joints, especially wrists - as will you lot when you're in your ancient twenties, crippled by your keyboards and controllers! Holding down a key for running can be painful. There are times when my finger hurts like the worst ever booboo! :( *holds up finger so you can all kiss it better....waggle waggle* Edited November 29, 2012 by Sula
krihelion 175 Posted November 29, 2012 As long as it doesnt go as far as being able to auto loot villages for you or auto go to vehicles spawns and get in if the vehicle is there and stop it is ok. If it gets like wow botting it needs to be done away with
A Lumberjack 32 Posted November 29, 2012 If it's not a feature, it's an exploit. Also, running in a straight line is a bad idea on populated servers. If you are on a low populated server then you are missing the point of dayz. It's not meant to be single player.

If you are on a low populated server then you are missing the point of dayz. It's not meant to be single player. how is this an exploit ? what advantage do you get using this?. it's an external app that automates keyboard input for a game. in most games this is forbidden. the step to auto-scavenge addons and aimbots is not that far away, by the way. i hope stuff like this will be detected / forbidden in the standalone. i don't care about the mod. but i don't think it's "ok", even if you could just "cram a penny into your keys". it's a survival simulator zombie game thing. if you don't want to run that far, don't do it. there won't be teleporters in the game for the same reason... This is just retarded. This is by far not Close to loot bots or aimbot how can you even bring teleporting into this?. Alot of people get pains when having to press W for 10 min.Edit: Gj wont download since i just use the steam overlay Edited November 30, 2012 by SnakeDoctor
A Lumberjack 32 Posted November 30, 2012 "it's an external app that automates keyboard input for a game."By definition this is cheating (however mild it is). It is also recommended that you take a break from gaming for 5 minutes or so every hour. This helps prevent repeated stress injuries such as carpal tunnel syndrome. It is also recommended that you change your diaper after defecating as this can cause a rash.

walrus2517 27 Posted November 30, 2012 (edited) @Assassin_UK1 - One thing you'll find on these forums is nearly every post that in any way, shape, or form, even hints at the mere possibility of something in DayZ being made easier or more efficient will draw out all the "real men" of DayZ with their 15" e-penises to tell you how tough and hardcore they are compared to the carebears and COD kiddies like us. And if you really pay attention you'll notice it's the same folks nearly every time telling you how lazy/cowardly/etc. you are. My first rule of thumb on the forums is to ignore the statements of anyone with more than 1,000 posts unless they are a moderator. In my experience nearly all of them are people who basically spend 8 hours a day trolling the forums telling everyone what a DayZ badass they are.I think my favorite moment in the DayZ forums was then Rocket released the mod build (1.5.x I think) where zeds were superheroes with 180 degree field of vision that could spot/hear you prone from 300m, including through terrain. It was so ridiculously difficult the majority of servers didn't upgrade, the ones that did quickly downgraded, and a patch was released within 48 hours. Nevertheless, you still found plenty of people saying "this is the way it should be" and accusing anyone who disagreed of cowardice. You just have to laugh and ignore them. :)Now, as for the little program you made; many, many thanks. I tried another auto-run program a few months ago but couldn't get it to work. About the only time I need it is when trying to climb a steep slope when traversing isn't getting me anywhere. Now I won't have to jam my mini screwdriver under the "2" key to hold the "W" down while I grab a snack.EDIT: In regards to Sula's point about joint stiffness, I have the same issue, particularly with DayZ, holding the W key down so much. One workaround I found was binding the "Run Forward" key to one of my side mouse buttons so I can still run with just my mouse and give my left hand a few moments of rest. And another point. Most games of this nature have an auto-run feature built-in. Certainly every RPG I can think of has it. It has nothing to do with laziness. It's just a feature that comes in handy for some people. walrus2517 27 Posted November 30, 2012 I tried it out last night but couldn't get it working. I ran as administrator, alt-tabbed out and clicked "Run". When pressing "W" 3x I would hear the activation sound but my character wouldn't run. Pressing "W" again I'd hear it deactivate. I tried closing and reopening a few times but could never get it working. Any ideas? TIA!

TIA!Sorry to hear that, can you provide any specs, ie: 32bit / 64 bit windows, what version etc (vista, win 7) And anything else you can find that may be helpful. From what i can gather from what you said the application is working as intended up untill obviously making you run. Are all your buttons default ie, w,a,s,dor arrow keys? (sorry to ask , just need to rule possible things out) . Thanks and look forward to your reply.

"W" is still my default "Run Forward" key but I've mapped my 4th mouse button to be "Run Forward" as well. Could that have anything to do with it?Other than that I've changed a few other default keys, such as changing the "Vault" button from "V" to the spacebar and configuring a few of the buttons on my flight stick to handle certain functions too, but I'm fairly certain "Vault" is the only key I have actually changed from the default. The rest I have just added additional buttons to function along with the defaults.

I can only assume it must be some other software interring with it. Could be anything from antivirus to any game overlay blocking the windows calls. I would like to help you diagnose it so it will work for you and anyone else in the future that may come across the same issue. Again sorry it never worked for you buddy, but ill try my best to get it working for you, whatever the issues is.

I do use the Steam overlay so I'll try disabling that and rebinding the "Run Forward" key to just "W". If it's working for everyone else then it's just a matter of tinkering with my setup to find the problem. I'll definitely report back when/if I figure it out. Thanks again!
