DayZ Standalone Idea: Weather changes

Recommended Posts

I would like to see more severe weather added to standalone, severe rain, snow and even sand storms ( where applicable ) I would appreciate your feedback.

Buildings and cars could get snowed in unless you dig them or you out with an entrenching tool

And when there are rain storms lower areas could flood and there could be tornados occasionally

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure tornadoes don't happen in Russia, especially hilly Chernaruas. (to A.Williams)

If you want to get realistic, getting stuck in a snow storm with the litte clothes you start off with, within 2 hours you'd be dead, even in shelter, unless you have a fire in said shelter.

High winds could pull at your vehicle, it'd be difficult to walk and could blow zombies and trees over, trees falling on cars/zombies/tents/players would destroy them and block roads, not to mention debris flying across your screen and the noise it'd make, and it'd be hard as hell to snipe. Combine the winds with snow you'd get blizzards, and in these extremely cold conditions you'd be freezing your beans off, roads would be slippy as hell making you more likely to crash your vehicle, and in torrential rain walking across country, fields, could be slippy you might fall over, and on roads in a vehicle there could be puddles that if you splash through at high speeds pull at it, and turning too tightly you'd skid off. There should be windscreen wipers on cars too. In torrential rain it could activate mud slides in effected areas too making roads difficult to pass. Not to mention if caught out in these conditions for too long you'd suffer from Hypothermia, Chilblains, Frostbite, Frostnip and Trench foot to name a few.

I agree and I commented that this form of severe weather should be dangerous for obvious reasons.
