#Sleepy 572 Posted November 25, 2012 1. Alienware, really? Come on.2. Alienwares motherboard or graphics card might have capabilities issues with DayZ, but keep in mind ArmA II optimization is horrible.
Mos1ey 6301 Posted November 25, 2012 Alienware machines just aren't worth the money you pay for them and ArmA 2 is a bit of a beast to run. I'm not surprised TBH.What are your system specs?
killerc22@gmail.com 11 Posted November 25, 2012 I have Alienware M14x R2... Just for mobile gaming purposes... Yes i bought an Alienware, i know i overpaid.. But its extremely light, super compact (only 14 inches) and sexy.... And it runs ArmA like a God straight from hell.Keep in mind, ArmA depends MAINLY on CPU, rather than GPUmine..Intel i7 3rd Gen Quad Core at 2.9 GHz with Turbo Boost 2.0Nvidia GeForce GT 650M HD with 2 gigs of DDR5 memory16 gigs of DDR3 ram
knifely 34 Posted November 25, 2012 Sorry man, I have a standard HP desktop and run DayZ at a constant 59 fps. Read up on some optimization options and upgrade your drivers
Ewipe 0 Posted November 25, 2012 I got a Intel® core i7-2670qm cpu @2.20ghz 2.20ghz 8,00GB ram 64-bit and NVIDIA
Mos1ey 6301 Posted November 25, 2012 Hmm... Alienware or not you should be running okay on those specs.Do you have post-processing effects disabled? If not get rid of it, it causes a lot of mouse lag and eats a load of FPS.Also, if you're running with Steam in launch options add -cpucount=8. Might help. Sula 1205 Posted November 25, 2012 (edited) Welcome to the forums, Ewipe. I suggest going into your Options and under Video looking in the Advance section. Then, as well as disabling post-processing, turning down all the settings and gradually working your way up bit by bit. That way you will learn what works for you. It's how I got dayz to run well for me. I've a similar spec to you, so it should be do-able. :thumbsup:Let us know how you get on.Killer22, exactly, if people don't own a machine then they are just airing factless opinions. I can happily tell people all about the PCs and laptops I own but I don't waste my time criticising what I don't have own. ;) Edited November 25, 2012 by Sula
