Old Vet Coming back,,,, Whats changed? Tips, private hives etc

Stopped playing dayz a month after the brought back heli's probably about 6 months ago or something, got sick of the hackers and tired of the same old map

So I updated my dayz commander recently and seen all these new maps and private hives,,,,,

Before I start playing again can anyone shed any light on whats changed in the game. Are hackers still abundant, should I be looking to join a private hive and do those private hives share info with the main hive yet,,,, what been going on survivors the last 6 months

Also anyone recommend a decent server/s for a 28 year old from the UK, maybe looking for a few players to play with, have my own teamspeak

I like playing the game properly, not disconnecting when I get in a sticky situation

I don't run into many hackers nowadays, much less than a few months ago but I play mainly on relatively low pop private servers. Private hives don't link to the main one and seem to be well looked after by admins making for a better experience IMO, of the new maps I like Namalsk and Panthera the best - Namalsk is tough to survive initially and seems the most similar to Chernerus in feel.

L85 and debug removed recently ish.

Edit - The thing I like most about private hives is that you start fresh each time you join a different one, so I have lots of them on the go at any time!

Well from my experience theres alot less hackers, all duping exploits are gone, you don't break your legs for the stupidest reasons anymore, some guns have been removed and there are new vehicles and other mechanics added into the mod like the new combat system. hope this helped abit.

Im not surprised,,, 6 months ago they were handling hundreds of servers between about 2-3 guys, not fixing customers problems and generally half assing it while taking everyones money

Private hive is the way to go. Many have admins that can help if you are hosed by a glitch. Some are adding custom buildings and such that add to the experience. And best of all better script-kiddie response and no ghosting.

Well, I play on global hives and havent found any hackers so far.

But when I played on private hives I got summoned and killed by one and another just teleported behind me, dropped a crate filled with goodies and said: enjoy!
