Wrong version, server rejected connection

I recently bought Arma II: Combined Operations mostly for DayZ. I opened Arma II and Arma II Operation Arrowhead. I downloaded DayZ Commander to play DayZ. I installed the update for ARMA II and DayZ. I can't join really any servers because it says that I have the wrong version and the server rejected the connection, but I don't and my client is up to date. I have DayZ commander only showing servers with all of the same versions as me, and this still happens. I've been dealing with this for a few hours and I'm getting really annoyed so can someone help me before I

I think I found my problem, actually. I get that error only when I have it set to launch through Steam. Anybody know how to fix this? I guess it's not that big of issue now, but...
