Question Regarding HiveExt.ini's [Time]

Recommended Posts

Greetings,

I was wondering if it's allowed to set a custom [Time] offset in HiveExt.ini on an Official Hive server. The ini says that setting it to static will revert the value back to local, but says nothing regarding custom. When I initially purchased the server rental, I didn't realize that the in-game server time was linked to the local server time. So I purchased a NY rental with a server time of UTC-4 (Atlantic Standard.) Which essentially puts it pitch black by the time my group and I are home from work.

If it's not allowed, I'll just eat the $30 loss for the month and cancel the sub and resub with a new server time.

[Time]

;Possible values: Local, Custom, Static

;You cannot use Static on OFFICIAL Hive, it will just revert to Local

;Type = Local

;If using Custom type, offset from UTC in hours (can be negative as well)

;Offset = 0

;If using Static type (Hour value always the same on every server start), the value (0-24) to set the Hour to

;Hour = 8

It is fine to alter your timezone offset on public servers. I've confirmed over IRC with a member of DayZ team. It is NOT okay to alter the day/night cycle though.
