Can't eat or drink in DayZ

Hey there, I am unable to eat or drink (I can bandage myself though), I open up my inventory and right click the food or drink and left click the eat or drink option etc. and nothing happens.. after about a minute it will say "This [food or drink] must be in your main inventory to use it" and when I check my inventory again the food or drink is gone without helping my hunger or thirst. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?

I didn't have that problem but mine was similar. I wasn't able to shoot the silenced m9 that you spawn with, crosshairs didn't even show up. I ended up having to drop it and pick it up again. Try dropping your food and picking it up again.

Anyway the new update fixed my problem so it's all good now.

Every server I've played in since the 1.7.4 update has spawned me with a silenced m9.

Really? I just spawn with the usual flashlight, bandage and painkillers.
