If a vehicle is crashed all/some loot should remain accessible to take

I think that if a player crashes a vehicle and it blows up all loot should remain accessible instead of being destroyed. This means that the player has to decide what they think is most valuable and allows for any people who come across the vehicle to gain some loot out of someone's misfortune/poor driving/flying. I can see this working especially well if a player is being chased by other players who may at least get something for their effort.

No. Because bandits would then deff shoot the car to death. Now (How it is) if they want the peoples gear they cannot just simply shoot the car till it explodes, then have to maybe shoot the tires or just the driver.

There should be a good chance of destruction of loot, but not everything should be wrecked.

With weapon/item degradation hinted at for standalone, I imagine there will be a lot of broken toys kicking about.

I would think that only some of the more robust items should remain like maybe a gun or two, but definitely not perishables like food or clothing.

Cars really shouldn't be burning up quite as often as they do though.

A heavy impact form a car crash would be more likely to wreck a gun than a tin of beans or a jacket. Fire, on the other hand, would probably wreck your clothes and guns, but food would be fine.

Don't you think that if the car was on fire that the ammo would perhaps "cook off" and blow up everything in the car? Or perhaps any jerry cans that might be in the car?

Maybe, but cars are pretty robust. They won't go down easily. Also would they not want the car?
