Is there any way to get back laptop to play day z

Hi guys,

Going to ask a almost certainly retarded question.. Is there anyway I can get my Hp G6 laptop to play DayZ? I have bought the game via steam and I am gutted my laptop can't handle it :'(

Sorry bud.

Pretty much every main component (Processor, RAM, GPU) would need a major upgrade - it would be much cheaper to buy a new laptop, there is really no way to get this one playing DayZ at a good framerate.

Had a feeling that was going to be the case :( Student life sucks lol can't get a new laptop for a while. If I was to trade it for a desktop pc with someone what is the minimum spec I would need to get the game playing at like 30fps?

i've been playing dayz on a laptop for about 6 months, i bought a pretty good one ( http://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/notebooks/vortexIII-Elite/) but it struggles with dayz even at low settings.

Desk tops are the way to go dude

Yeah in an ideal world I would have a desktop but laptop is needed as I travel up and down the country and easy up for uni as well. What is vidock?

The RAM is completely fine, since DayZ can't handle more then 2047 MB anyway

The graphics card and CPU however are damn slow, just try it, i have the following Specs and can play fluently on very low settings:

3.0Ghz Dualcore Phenom 2 X2 545

4GB Ram at 1066 Mhz

GeForce 9600GT 1GB Ram

Student DayZ do not last forever, go out and pull some (Insert sexual preference) and have a good student life, don't worry about DayZ it will be there when you land on your feet!

success!!! i have got it running to a playable standard, used gamebooster and dayz commander to find a good server :D now got another question, when i go to third person view it seems pretty close to the char, any way to zoom it out abit?

Double tap (-) above your number pad on the right hand side of your keyboard.

Note: Will not work when you have a sniper rifle equiped.

ok thanks, i have downloaded namalsk but when i tried to play it i get an error saying the file type is too short, any ideas?

Did you get it through DayZCommander?

If not, try that.

If so, reinstall.
