What would you do if you could "fix" zombies/infected?

Recommended Posts

-Ragdoll physics upon death

-Only can be killed if shot in head/hit in head with hatchet

-If bit/killed a player the players body will roam around with his gear and X amount of gear would be lost per minute so on and so forth. (Player respawns the players body is AI controlled)

-Slower

-AI makes zombies walk from point A to B directly, not using ArmA AI so they don't serpentine or zig zag.

-Will crawl if shot in knees (but not die)

-Hordes

-More zombies

-Can't climb ladders

-Can't open doors instantly (Must break them down or something like it)

Now I know DayZ has a lot of other things to work on, but zombies are a HUGE part of DayZ in thought. But after playing there just annoying or a way to find other players.

The problem with slow moving zombies is that they'd need tons of them or they wouldn't be a threat. I would really like hordes of slow zombies that make you run out of ammo quickly, but I think it might not be possible (at least with this engine :( ).

What they need to get fixed ASAP is their stupid movement patterns and stuff... Pointless zigzags. Jerky/glitchy movement. Moving slowly inside buildings. Random teleports into melee range. Attacking through walls. That kind of thing.

I'd make them faster (But dodge/zig-zag less), take more bullets to kill (or require a headshot), and give them better player-detection abilities.

I'd take away all their clothes

First of all, delicious.

Yea same, BUT Standalone is supposed to have a tweaked engine that helps with optimization and should run better so you could throw in more zombies.

Little graphic, but I don't think zombies should be able to climb ladders or open doors. I mean trying to break down a door sure.

1. More zombies.

2. Make them slower. Walk speed or slow jogging is good.

3. Zombies are EVERYWHERE. Not just in cities and towns and some specific other locations, but everywhere. Yes, even in the middle of nowhere wilderness.

4. To kill a zombie, it would require 1 hit to head or +10 hits to any other body part.

Make it so they can't knock me out in one hit if I'm under 9000 blood, change it to 6000 or something. Seriously I cannot begin to describe how much this makes me rage. 9000 blood is 75% of my health, I can guarantee you a small slap from the undead wont knock me out for a minute after I've taken a few hits.

Oh and make their movement and animations not retarded. As well as adding massive hordes of them and all that shit that's already been said a million times.

There's no women zombies as of yet so I'd sell them to Hetstaine and Steak'.

Bring zombie women in and ill cure them and have a good time in the apocalypse like Dukov!!

Headshots for sure. The damage they do needs to be set against how they move. Basically we want the zeds to be dangerous - like "I'm fucked!" dangerous. Since we can't seem to have hordes due to processing power, then we need something else. We need to be able to sneak around them but if we're sloppy, we bring down a shit storm.
