Hey guys

I have tried tons of different settings to get better FPS but it seems not to work. Somewhere on a forum they said you needed the perfect settings for your system to be able to run arma 2 smoothly. I'm not an expert with the arma engine and the different tricks to get better FPS. So I would be really grateful if someone could help me out. I just bought a new graphic card, but it seems not to help a lot.

So here are my settings

* I play with Dayzcommander

* I use RAMDISK

* Launch options: -nosplash -world=empty -maxmem=4096 -winxpExpansion

* My Arma CFG: Located in documents -> Arma2 and called Leo ( that's the nick I play on )

Is there anyone around who could give me the right settings. I have like 50-60 fps in the wild but once I enter a city or village it drops to 20 ish FPS.

In Commander you can tell application to shut down after Arma connected.

This has helped me improve my network usage over all during gameplay, I noticed sometimes.

thats quite normal, i got 2 HD6970 2Gig crossfireX. with a AMD bulldozer 8 core OCd to 4,7Ghz.

and i get 28-30 fps in citties, ArmA 2 is no Battlefield 3 or CoD, you have to compare ArmA with Flight simulator as this is a combat simulation game. there is no system taht can bring you up to 50-60fps in citties ;)

hope this helps you for wasting anymore time on performance boosting lol.

Yes I know. But I would like it to be just a bit more playable.

I have been hitting over 2gb or video memory playing Dayz on my 7970, I don't drop below 50fps at any point in the game, I think the highest I saw was 2.2gig or vid memory used. Maybe turn down some more settings as the game could be caching your memory if you are using more then your card has.

Turn all your settings down to lowest if you want more performance, you've done pretty much everything else tbh thats the only thing left :D

The thing is It doesn't matter if i put those setting to very high or very low. I get the same fps.

@Dayzgeneration I just don't know how you do that ... It would be awesome to play on 50 FPS while combatting people :(.

What are your settings ?

1920x1080 and everything maxed out. This game is very CPU dependant. If you can, clock your CPU abit. My CPU is the weak part of my system. A 2700k, Although its clocked to 4.6 and if i clock it too 4.8 i see a raise in fps. But... its minimal.
