question about my graphics card

Hello, I get decent frames with everything on minimum but I experience huge spikes often, I was running an Nvidia GT240 a couple months ago and it ran better than it does now, I upgraded my graphics card to the GT610, and I think my computer meets the minimum req, so what's up with my frame drop?
