I just noticed that there aren't nearly as many bandits as there used to be. Anybody else concur? There seem to be a lot more friendlies now then there used to be.

I've noticed less bandits, but more hackers. All of the kiddie elektro-camping bandits discovered the magic of scripting, and started to insta kill, god mode, and teleport people instead of killing unarmed players.

I've played since 1.7.2 and there is no way in hell that there are more friendlies than ever. That's why me and my friends bought a server and play (not in a group) with it passworded so that we may fight amongst or team up with each other, all six of us. Can get quite intense and fun, especially when you're voice chatting in Steam and just hear:

"WHAT THE F*** WAS THAT"

"Oh my God... Ben, are you in the bushes over there?"

"Oh my gosh, you're all so beat. *meniacal laughing*."

"Herp derp GAH"

"Who's shooting at me, stop!"

"Guys, let's all kill Jason (or whomever)."

Yah i agree, i have never came across a bandit up close though, am i missing out on such an experience?

Yeh Bandits can suck, but in my opinion that is the whole fun of the game. I dont play so I can accumulate all the weapons, ammo and beans and crouch in the forest for the rest of the game. Some of the worst banditry has been some of my best experiences. Locking a server and knowing everyone in it just doesn't sound like fun. You should be ready to die and have an adventure, get scared and pissed off with a hacker, get chased by a team of bandits after they killed your partner and fucken hack one to death in your last breathes, get a bike and ride it through Elektro while trying to avoids the numerous amounts of varied gunfire aimed in your direction and most importantly DIE! Its the best way to have fun :)

Then again, what is really "A bandit" ? People who try to hold you up, making you drop your weapon and gear?

Well, I play mainly in private hives now, so the hacking isn't as much of a problem. KOSing seems to have died a bit and Banditry really is robbing or killing for loot. It hasn't happened as much in my opinion.
