Safe Zone & Possible Wreck Moving

Safe Zone

I Have been thinking about a safe zone.

I know that zombies walk slower within houses and other buildings, but what if you could secure a Part of a town or village

by stopping the zombies from spawning, basically killing them all in that area, then you could use a Tow vehicle that could be added to the game, move the vehicle wrecks or find more bits like Metal/Boards/other materials to block the roads and back alleys.

To keep the zombie count up every time someone dies it could add a few zombies to that area that they died (because lets face it you die... quite a lot in the game haha).

Just a Suggestion that i would love to see to make it a bit more realistic :)

mm true but the bandits would play a bigger role in the game due to the death they cause. like i said have a numerous amount of zeds spawning on a player death

yeh there is so much wreckage around that just sat there. so many times i have wanted to drag it around lol

also you could use the Player death to your benefit such as, over running the Strongholds by leading people to that place and killing them, that would lead to player killing a lot more but add extra dangers to the game because its not just senseless killing because you could take out bandits.

I support the idea of being able to clear out a city and fortify it, and no zombies respawn once dead. I don't think we're going to get that kind of game however. Cities like Cherno would be near impossible to clear out/fortify unless you had nearly the whole population helping you.. but some of the smaller cities? I don't see why a small group of survivors couldn't make it happen. Hopefully fortifications like barb wire, sandbags, tank traps, closing doors will prevent zombies as well.

I think it's been suggested that Zombies will be of the running type, in and out of buildings. The only difference in zombie will be the "progressions" of young/old. Newly infected/old infected. That's kind of disappointing.

yeh like you said cherno is a Big place it would be a mean feet clearing that so it would take time doing that and with the Player death spawning zombies near Impossible, would add a bit more to do as well because once you have good stuff you kinda run out of things to do (well i do) so starting up civilization again would be kinda cool. And yeh the zombie changes are disappointing really.

I like this idea. Drag a few wrecks and block off a street or block. Now you have a safe zone with guarded entry and exits.

Then as a group you loot and take it back to your safe zone and store it in tents or houses.

Set up a distribution to New players?

Zombies should still spawn as normal but outside the area and wander towards the concentrated human populace.

Eventually a rabid horde could randomly attack. This could be triggered by the amount of players in a local area for a set time. Server triggers event, extreme aggro Zombies spawn and attack safe zone.

Players defend or die, sneaky players could nick food and supplies and do a bunk during the zombie attack, leaving bewildered ex-mates behind.

Other groups and bandits could attack.

A smoke grenade into the safe zone would drive zombies into it.

M203 and hand frags to break through the wrecks.

Seems cool to me. Oh to dream...

Idea is ok, but it shouldnt be so "easy".

Maybe in the standalone, after clearing the part out zeds should roam in from the outside of city..it should never be "safe zone".

And I hope they implement that people and zeds can jump, so one small car wreckage wont block them...

Last thing I want to see is people halo jumping and shooting... I'd rather see a climb-over popup action than just your characters ability to jump... No thank you.

With fixes for zombies clipping through walls and fences, and making zombies spawn a minimum of 50 metres from the nearest player, there comes the potential to clear out a small area for a limited time.

The moving of old vehicles (along with salvaging parts from the wrecks) has been brought up before. If memory serves, I believe Rocket said he'd already though about something along those lines.

As for jumping, there's a big difference between jumping onto a car bonnet, and jumping clear over someones head. Dreygar managed to jump (to conclusions), it's only fair the zombies get a turn :thumbsup:
