noob help needed!

Hey guys, I was wondering where I can find weapons and cars and gear just tips? Also my map doesn't seem to load it just comes up black.? :-(

Hello!

Your map is black because you dont have a map :) easyest way to find maps is in supermarkets, but if you dont have one you can use this http://dayzdb.com/map

Just watch your bottom right corner when you log in you can see where you are and find yourself on the map. Follow the shore for starters to get where you want. Then after a couple weeks you get used to the map ;)

To find weapon spawns and car spawns, I suggest checking out dayzdb.com/map/ for that kind of stuff, and you need to find a map before being able to use it. Edit: Ninja'd

You don't have a map at fresh spawn. You need to find one. The first thing you could do is find a little town (avoid Cherno and Electro if you are unarmed) and get basic gear. You can find Lee Enfields, soda cans and food in farms. You need a map and a compass, so loot the red and orange houses (pretty sure you will find makarovs and m1911's). Supermarkets to get a sweet Alice Pack and you're on.

Head to a large city to get morphine in a Hospital. If you want better (military) weapons and you're afraid to been killed in Cherno Electro, just travel along wilderness (if you have hatched, matches and knife, you can hunt animals) and scout for deer stands, usually located in tree lines.

Vehicles... well, take in mind that in most cases all vehicles are taken and they are pretty hidden. But probably you can find them in the forrest in the north edge of the map.

A good idea is to pay attention to the second line of text that pops up when you spawn. This will tell you where you are in the map, and you can use DayZDB to find loot locations.

You start without a map!

You have to find a map first to be able to look at it.

Well weapons and gear are all around, sure there are some better places, but mostely the better places to loot are also the more dangerous places.

One good tip i can give you is when you spawn at Kamenka, don't go to cherno or electro, instead go to zelonorsk and then airport. For the amount you have to run to cherno or electro, you better off just running north.

Indeed, you're better off running North and scavenging cities such as Zelenogorsk, Rogovo, Pushtoshka, Vybor and Airfield of course.

This is if you're heading North West and spawn at say Kamenka, Komarovo or Balota.
