A few questions from a new player…

Is there a way someone can tell if you are dead? Does your body look much different? Also, you can loot someone’s pack while they are alive? I didn’t know. Do they get a message or something? What controls do they have over “not” letting it happen? I ask because:

I had what I think was a hack in a game I played last night. I spawned and then next thing you know I was in the woods with a guy starring down a sniper rifle at me. In the distance sat his beautiful helicopter whirling away. The guy shot me in the leg broke my leg then bandaged me so I wouldn’t bleed out. I was left to crawling. He then came over to do something else and I could stand. Then he proceeded to shoot me again. Long story short the last time this happened I just sat there and didn’t move. He came over to bandage me and I looted his pack I took his sniper rifle after he bandaged me and got up and I ran like hell!

So a bad experience really turned into a learning experience. So this brought me to my questions above.

When you die your body goes limp and the sound of flies will occur...

Yes you can steal tings from peoples backpacks, it's why nowadays i wont ever carry a spare weapon in my pack....

Sounds like you encountered a scripter toying with you but nice job getting his rifle and running!

Hey there, to answer your questions:

You can tell when someone is dead because there will be the sound of flies over their corpse, and you will be able to "Study" and "Hide" their body.

Any backpack can be looted at any time, whether it's on your back, or on the ground. The only way to know if someone's looting your bag is if you notice something is missing.

Yeah, the most obvious way is the flies. But you can only take items from a players backpack, not their main inventory or tool slots, while they're alive too, and if someone is unconscious you get the give epi/bloodbag/bandage/etc. options too.

You'll know you're dead because your screen will totally change and say "YOU'RE DEAD!"

Yes you can steal stuff from anyone's backpack.

No they have no message or warning; they just have to notice something is missing. A good indicator is someone getting really close and typically behind you with out a good reason. Good reasons would be "Hey I'm going to give you a transfusion" or "I'm gonna give you a shot of morphine."
