Standalone should have a Namalsk like environment.

Recommended Posts

Going to keep this one simple.

In the DayZ Standalone there should be large mountains like in Namaslk, and ofcourse they should be covered in snow. I strongly agree that the DayZ standalone should be in a cold environment such as Namaslk because if you want to access areas of high loot you must first find yourself some warm clothes. There for players are forced to scavenge for basic supplies before they're able to find a weapon, or a military weapon, so players are somewhat limited to high altitude areas. I find myself, when I'm playing on Lingor, or Panthera that I will almost always find a military weapon before I have a map or any food or drink.

The only barracks on the map should only spawn ontop of a snow covered mountain, such as Seraja Army Base. I don't meen that the map should be limited to only one barracks, but there should be multiple mountains, therefore plenty of barracks to go around.

I'm sure most of you guys have played or atleast heard of Call of duty 4 Modern warfare, (no I'm not a cod fan.) but when you look at the map "Bloc" and where it is set, which is in Chernobyl. It would be a great place for DayZ to be set in.

Not to mention the fact that the city 'Vorkuta' in namalsk seems to look similar, and quite nostalgic. I think for the best outcome of DayZ standalone, it would have to be set in an environment that is similar to Chernobyl and Namaslk.

DayZ being set in it's current map 'Chernarus' is a good map and suits it well. But a dark, cold map like this would make DayZ so much more interesting, and I think it would suit it so much more than it does with Chernarus. Not to mention there could also be an in depth storyline, because Chernobyl still has radiation floating around and you could use that to some up a storyline of how the zombie apocalypse began.

I agree. Namalsk is a beautiful piece of work. SUMRAK is a design genius ! He has made DayZ fun again.

Bohemia should offer him a full-time job working for them.

Each time a new map gets released someone comes to the suggestion forum and tells us how 'this is how dayz should be'. Namalsk is nice enough I give you that, but I doubt it will be able to compete with Chernarus Plus. A bigger map, more towns/cities, more enterable and redesigned buldings. Though I'm sure there will be fan made maps somewhere down the road.

As for the 'indepth storyline' I don't see how chernobyl would explain a zombie apocalypse that's based on a virus. Besides, Rocket doesn't want a complex storyline for the game as far as I can tell from his interviews. Sure there will be clues about what happened but there will never be a narrative forced on the player.

im sure rocket said he is looking into other maps but standalone will be released with just the Chernarus map as this will have almost all buildings enterable like ash said, other maps will come supported and be add ons ect.. and i think there will be fan made ones so im sure there will be something your along the lines of what you want only time will tell :)

I for one cannot wait for Chernarus Plus. Namalsk is a good map but only because it emphasizes survival and not primarily PVP. Give it a month and you will be wanting a new map.

Not going to happen soon but a map similar to Namalsk, with the same atmosphere but much larger and made from scratch specifically for DayZ would be great as a future addon.

I don't think it should replace the original Chernarus atmosphere, that should be in another map.

Yeah, not everyone who plays DayZ likes Namalsk, where as pretty much everyone who plays/likes the game likes chernarus (I mean thats the map everyone started with and you must have liked it to stay and try others.). I cant stand Namalsk OR a cold snowy enviroment. I love my green/golden autumnal foliage.

Have you even played it? On Chernarus you only find people one place, the airfield. In Namalsk you find them everywhere. I have had so many more PvP encounters in Namalsk than Chernarus.

I would like to see the high mountain ranges in Namalsk merged with the far north end of Chernarus. That would be the perfect Mix. IMO

New Namalsk Private Hive, Mature admins, Mature Players, 70+ vehicles, 3 Helo's, Bonus starting gear (Includes NVG's! and M4A1SD)

3RD person on, Crosshairs off

Right, let's advertise a server that spawns you with military grade weapons and has too many vehicles and at the same time call ourselves "mature players".

(Also, I didn't think you were allowed to advertise servers on the forums.)
