Female character selection

I know this was introduced a few patches back, and that players would got the one time option to choose whether or not they wanted to be a male/female character. I was never presented with this choice. Is there anyway to manually make the selection? I'd like to roll a female character if it is still possible.

I fear you have to wait until rocket has a look into this issue with an upcoming update as there is no way to select your gender manually (afaik).

Unfortunately (at least for guys who desperately want to play as females) this isn't that much of an high priority issue. And no, I am not sexist, just stating that there might not be quite as much females playing Day Z than there are males.
